info
Sykkelkjøkkenet is an open, volunteer-run bike workshop. We’re here so you can borrow tools, get help, and learn how to fix your own bike — all for free. No experience needed. Everyone’s welcome.

About the shop

Sykkelkjøkkenet is a volunteer-run bike workshop in Oslo. We exist to make bike repair more accessible — by offering tools, space, and guidance to anyone who wants to learn or fix their own bike.
The workshop is free to use and open to everyone.
No registration, no membership, no fees.
Our goal is to build a stronger cycling culture in the city. We promote self-reliance, reduce waste through bike reuse, and share knowledge through hands-on learning.
Everything we do is powered by volunteers — people who help others help themselves, one repair at a time.

Volunteer
You don’t need to be a bike expert — just curious, helpful, and up for learning. Volunteers help keep the space open, answer questions, and support others as they fix their bikes.
If that sounds like something for you, fill out the form and we’ll get in touch.
Have a bike or parts to donate?
We’re happy to receive well-maintained bikes and quality used parts like wheels, drivetrains, or brakes — they help others keep riding and keep our workshop stocked.
We can’t take everything, so please email us with a short description and photos if you can. We’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.
